Now, from your question, you're envisioning the said Company to be one that'll have subsidiaries, and its just you as a named owner.
Under the Company and Allied Matters Act, a Company formed by a sole proprietor, that is one person, cannot have subsidiaries, this is because it's just a Business Name.
But to have subsidiaries, you'll have to register the said Company as a Limited, either by Guarantee or Private or Public as the case may be, but you'll need one more person for it.
Two Directors that is, of which one of you can also be the secretary.
So check with yourself which is paramount...
A) Sole proprietorship, or
Then whichever one that stands out, you'll go with it.
Sole proprietorship equals Business Name..
Subsidiaries equals Limited.
